We absolutely love the doors that Faran and his team installed. From the initial process of helping us pick the door model, handle, lock etc, to the installation it was completely turnkey. We even had a few minor things that we needed done after the job and they delivered, no questions asked. Do not hesitate to reach out to them if you're in the market for a door.

This is my first review, But after seeing what you guys did to my house. I had to leave a review!! I had left the house with my husband for 3 weeks as me and my friends went on Vacation. Returning from my vacation i had noticed my husband had changed the windows and doors as a surprise. I'm usually superrrr picky when it comes to these type of renovations, because its rare for a company to give you good service, at a good price. But This definitely wasn't the case. I was super happy with the results! im blown away, the seals are super well done, the windows are heavy duty, and we didnt have to break our bank account! Thanks so much guys! Will definitely be telling the girls about you!

I don't often leave reviews to places, but it takes an incredible team to truly deserve a 5 star review. Faran and his team have been more than willing to work, develop, execute and follow up on the job for our windows and doors in our home. He was completely understanding and willing to help me every step of the way and I can't thank him and his team enough. Pricing is fair, competitive and he's willing to adjust based on quotes you get. Don't look any further, Eco Elite and the team should be your choice for windows and doors anywhere in Montreal. Once again, thank you!!!

I had four windows and an entrance door installed by Faran and his team a few months ago. We were very happy with the quality of the work and the results. The service pre and post installation was just as good. Faran was always available when we needed information or wanted to make changes to previously selected items. He was polite, patient, honest and you never feel like he’s trying to upsell you things you don’t need. I 100% recommend Portes et Fenêtres Eco Elite.

Glazing Designed for Performance

Double Glazing

Composed of two panes, a Low-E film, argon gas, and an interlayer, this popular choice offers great energy efficiency at an affordable cost. Perfect for most climates and budgets.

Triple Glazing

Built with three panes, this option improves insulation, raises indoor glass temperature, reduces condensation, and blocks more outside noise—ideal for demanding conditions or higher budgets.

Tinted Glass

Enhances privacy without blocking the view from inside. Significantly limits visibility into your home while slightly reducing thermal gains.

Laminated

Keeps the energy-saving benefits of double glazing while greatly reducing outside noise. A great choice for homes in busy or high-traffic areas.

Tempered

A strong safety glass that’s four to five times more impact-resistant than regular glass. If broken, it shatters into small pieces to reduce injury risk.

Frosted

Conventional glass treated to create a satin finish. Allows light through while gently blurring the view for privacy indoors and out.

Find Answers to Your Questions

FAQs

Common questions about window replacement, glazing options, Réno-Climat rebates, and what to expect from our window installations.

Why is there condensation between my window panes?

Fog or moisture trapped between the panes means the sealed glass unit has failed — the insulating gas has escaped and humid air is getting in. The window loses a significant part of its insulating value once that happens, which you'll feel as a colder room and see on your heating bill. This is different from surface condensation on the inside of the glass, which is usually a humidity issue, not a window failure. A failed sealed unit can often be replaced without changing the whole window if the frame is in good shape. We'll tell you which situation you have during a free assessment.

How do I know when my windows need to be replaced?

The most common signs in Montreal homes: drafts you can feel near the frame in winter, condensation or fog trapped between the glass panes, frost forming on the interior glass, windows that stick or won't stay open, visible rot or soft spots on wood frames, rising heating bills, and outside noise that seems louder than it used to be. One or two symptoms can sometimes be repaired; several together usually means the window has reached end of life. We'll give you an honest repair-or-replace assessment during a free quote — we don't push replacement when a repair will do.

How long do new windows last in Quebec's climate?

Quality PVC or fibreglass windows installed correctly last 25–40 years in Quebec, even with our freeze-thaw cycles. The sealed glass unit is usually the first component to age — typically 15–25 years before seals can fail — which is why glass-unit warranties matter as much as frame warranties. Locally made windows help here: they're engineered for −30°C winters rather than milder climates. Proper installation is the other half of the equation; a perfectly good window fails early if it's poorly sealed or shimmed. Every unit we install is levelled, foamed, and flashed to protect that lifespan.

Are triple-pane windows worth it in Quebec?

For most Montreal homes — yes, especially on north-facing walls, bedrooms, and rooms that never feel warm. Triple-pane windows typically cost 10–25% more than double-pane but cut heat loss noticeably, block more street noise, and reduce cold-surface condensation in deep winter. They also help you hit the efficiency thresholds for Réno-Climat rebates, which claws back much of the price difference. If your budget is tight, a smart compromise is triple-pane on the coldest exposures and double-pane elsewhere. We'll run both options side by side in your free quote so you can compare real numbers.

Do I need a license for window installation?

In Quebec, window installation doesn't require a specific installation license - but the work must comply with the building code set by the Regie du batiment du Quebec (RBQ). That's why hiring an RBQ-licensed contractor matters: it protects you legally, satisfies your insurer, and ensures the work qualifies for programs like Reno-Climat. Our installers are fully licensed and compliant. Ask us for documentation during your free quote visit.

What questions should I ask my window installer?

Ask whether they're RBQ-licensed and insured, how long they've been installing windows in Quebec, what brands they carry, how they handle air sealing and flashing, and what the warranty covers for both product and labour. Also ask about cleanup, timeline, and what happens if there's an issue after installation. A good installer answers all of this without hesitation. If they're vague on the warranty or can't give a firm timeline, that's a red flag. We address all of it upfront during your free quote visit.

What warranties are available for window installations?

Window warranties come in two parts: the manufacturer warranty (typically 10-25 years, covering glass seal failure, frame defects, and hardware) and the installation workmanship warranty we provide separately. Most quality windows carry a lifetime warranty on the frame and 10-20 years on the sealed glass unit. Our installation warranty covers air leakage, water infiltration, and anything related to how the window was fitted. We walk you through both before any work begins.

How can I improve the energy efficiency of my windows?

The biggest single improvement is replacing single-pane windows with double- or triple-pane units with a low-E coating and argon fill. If replacement isn't in the budget right now, window film, interior insulation kits, and heavy curtains can reduce heat loss temporarily - but for Montreal winters, those are stopgaps. Properly installed new windows with a low U-value (0.25 or lower) can cut heat loss by 30-50% and qualify you for Reno-Climat rebates. We can run the numbers for your home during your free quote.

What are the typical costs associated with window installation?

Window installation costs in Montreal depend on window size, type (casement, double-hung, bay, etc.), glazing (double vs. triple pane, low-E coating), and frame material. For a standard double-hung or casement window, expect $400–$900 per window installed. Bay or bow windows run $1,500–$3,500+. Triple-pane windows cost more upfront but qualify for Reno-Climat rebates that offset a significant portion. Labour typically adds $150–$350 per window. We give you a fully itemized quote - no vague estimates - so you can see exactly what you're paying for before committing.

What should I consider when replacing windows?

For Montreal homes, the key factors are: glazing (double vs. triple pane - triple is worth it for north-facing windows or rooms that are always cold), frame material (vinyl, fibreglass, or wood - each with different maintenance needs), U-value and energy rating (lower is better; aim for 0.25 or below), window operation type (casement seals tighter than double-hung - important in our climate), and whether your existing frame is in good condition or needs replacing. Also check if the window qualifies for Reno-Climat rebates - we'll confirm eligibility during your free quote.

What is the process for window installation?

Our window installation process: first, we measure and confirm the rough opening at your free quote visit - this prevents ordering the wrong size. Once the window arrives, we remove the old window and inspect the rough opening for rot, moisture damage, or structural issues. We install the new window with proper shimming and levelling, apply flashing tape around the exterior, seal with low-expansion foam on the interior, and finish with interior and exterior trim. Every install gets tested for smooth operation and air leakage before we leave. Typical single window takes 1–2 hours; a full house of windows is quoted as a multi-day project.
